Where is Block Heater being held this year?
The 10th anniversary Block Heater music festival returns with performances at the Royal Canadian Legion #1, Central United Church, and The Palace Theatre from February 14–15, 2025.
Are there full festival passes available?
Yes. Patrons will be able to bounce between downtown venues on Friday and Saturday with our Block Heater festival pass. Festival passes are also available for all ages, however only passholders 18+ will be granted entry to The Palace Theatre.
How much are tickets?
Single venue tickets are $40 plus taxes & fees. Wristbands (that give access to all 6 events/18 artists over 2 days) are $99 plus taxes & fees.
Is there a dry venue (no bar services)
Central United Church is a dry venue with no bar service. We will sell non-alcoholic beverages (water, pop, etc.).
Are the events all-ages?
The Royal Canadian Legion #1 and Central United Church are all-ages venues.
The Palace Theatre is an 18+ venue. Bag and ID checks are mandatory.
No ticket will be required for infants below two years, but they must be accommodated on the parent or guardian’s lap, as no seat will be allocated. Children over two require a seat and, therefore, a paid ticket. Festival passes are available for all ages attendees, however access will not be given to The Palace Theatre for those under the age of 18, regardless of being a festival pass holder.

Our artist-in-residence this year is Sarah Slaughter.

What is your refund policy?
All sales are final.
Block Heater will run snow or shine. The lineup is subject to change.
Is photography allowed?
Photography and videography with DSLR, mirrorless, and any full-frame or crop sensor digital cameras is not permitted at Block Heater venues unless otherwise accredited by the Calgary Folk Music Festival through our approved media list.
Cell-phone pictures and videos are encouraged at all our events. Be sure to tag @calgaryfolkfest across platforms.

ACCESSIBILITY & ACCESS
What are the accessibility options at Block Heater venues?
Palace Theatre 219 8 Ave SW This is an 18+ venue. Bag and ID checks are mandatory.
Wheelchair-accessible entrance via the front of the venue (main entrance). Fully accessible main floor. Inaccessible second level (stairs only). An accessible washroom is located on the main floor. Ask Block Heater volunteers for assistance. The venue is a mix of seated and standing.
Central United Church 1317 Ave SW All-ages venue. Dry venue, no alcohol is permitted.
Seated room only, with ample accessible seating available. The wheelchair-accessible entrance is via the side entrance on 1st Street SW, where patrons can access the elevator to the main floor. Ask Block Heater volunteers for assistance. Accessible washrooms are available. The balcony is not wheelchair accessible and is only reached via stairs.
The Royal Canadian Legion #1 116 7 Ave SE All-ages venue
The wheelchair-accessible entrant is via the rear entrance (located in the alley). Ask a Block Heater volunteer for assistance. The main floor is fully accessible throughout, including washroom access. This is a standing-room venue with limited, obstructed sightline seating available. The second floor can be accessed via an elevator on the main floor. It is fully accessible throughout, including washroom access and seating.
