Kyle Young Pine and Friends
Mohkinstsis
Kyle Young Pine and Friends is a collective performance rooted in Indigenous culture, family, and community, shared through dance, song, and drum. Led by Kyle Young Pine, a Niitsitapi member of the Kainai Nation (Blood tribe), they bring forward the strength and precision of the Fancy Feather Dance.
Joining him is Phoenix Young Pine, also Niitsitapi from the Kainai Nation, representing the next generation through Junior Boys Grass Dance, carrying cultural teachings forward with pride. Nevada Ouellette, Cree–Métis, shares the healing and beauty of the Jingle Dress Dance. The performance is carried by the heartbeat of the drum, led by Tyson Heavenfire, Dene from Tsuut’ina Nation, alongside Jesse Pelletier, Niitsitapi from Siksika Nation.
Together, Kyle Young Pine and Friends open Block Heater at The Confluence in Calgary, promoting Indigenous culture, truth and reconciliation, bridging understanding, and strengthening community through culture.
